Finding Online Affiliates and JV’s For an Offline Industry
I was recently asked the following question; “I am having difficulties finding potential JV partners and affiliates online for my industry because it is primarily offline. Do you have any suggestions”? I thought the answer I gave would be very useful to more than just the person who asked it. That’s why I’m sharing it with you today.
When you find offline customers, you are in the lucky position to assist them go online. This task is very lucrative for an active offline marketer.
You are now bringing them an opportunity that says, “Hey, I am willing to take care of all of the groundwork, by setting up an online campaign that will teach them about XYZ. Would you be open to possibly being one of my guests, adding a couple of tips or something of that nature”?
The real whip for them is that you could easily set up some type of an affiliate arrangement whereby they would receive some type of a monetary gain by sending their traffic to you.
The other thing that you may want to do is that they have probably got list of people and they primarily market to them offline. What about putting a proposal to them that you would pay for an offline campaign to their particular customers to drive them through their affiliate links to an online teleseminar?
That is a really successful way that we have utilized in the past because most joint ventures do not come to the partner with a proposal that really makes it attractive and a win-win. If you do that, you are saying, “Look, I’m willing to pay for the cost to market to your list so it cost you nothing and we’ll drive everybody through your affiliate link so that anybody who does register you are going to gain momentarily.”
As you see, the above arrangement is of mutual benefit - your partner makes money as an affiliate, you get a list of people (and their emails), who are interested in a product you market.
This campaign will help your partners to realize that online opportunities exist for them, too and hopefully they will opt in to be your affiliates or to create a joint venture with you.
