The Use of Identification Cards
Most or almost all companies, schools or any institution usually requires all of its members, may it be employees, employer or students to have and properly use an Identification Card for that particular institution, organization or school where they are admitted or hired. Identification card is a type of identity document that will identify, recognize or verify you as part of a group, a company or a school. It is issued as a small, standardized plastic card with your photo in it. In some countries, the use of their Identification cards may be compulsory but to some it may be voluntary.
Identification cards can be quite distinguishable in terms of format and content. There are few musts which need to be there on the card though. Name, address, age, and identification number are prerequisite. There are many optional information like religion, professional rank, date of issue and expiry. It may also ask you for your marital status. A photograph is absolutely necessary for any kind of identification card. After all, what’s a card without a visual identification? ID card content depends largely on the place of usage of the card. Employers who work in a protected environment also have additional unusual data printed on their card. These may be in form of fingerprint or other biometric information like hair color, skin color, and contours of face.
What happens in the event if an employee does not utilize the issued ID? What may be the result of such indiscretion? If an employee shies away from using an ID, it imposes a threat on the organization itself. It also puts a threat on us as an employee. Moreover there is always the problem of being suspected. The ID is a shelter against any offensive or fraudulent intrusion. These are easiest methods of surveillance.
The ID should be worn at a place where it is easily visible to all. It is not hard to understand. A badge of identification needs to be visible. It is a bare necessity. Different institutes believe in different protocols. Few ask the employees to wear the badge on the shoulder. Others may want the employees to wear it on the pelvic area. The idea is to adhere to whatever discipline the particular organization follows.
ID’s should also be properly taken cared of even if you’re already off from work or school. Once you’re out from work or school, keep your ID in a safe place where it won’t be misplaced and you could easily get hold with it when you’re going to work or school because sometimes it may be used by another person and get away with it. Don’t wet your ID because the plastic might be worn out and get destroyed or may look untidy.
The ID card is extremely significant. A manufacturer should give great priority to it while making. The card should be long-lasting and at the same time smart to look at. In fact, the card is a veritable part of grooming and must not look too heavy. E-cards are in vogue today.
Other usage of the identification cards are for bank account openings, claims of money or sending it, or any type of claims, entrance to an institution that requires for an identity check to avoid criminal entry, processing of passports, and many more dealings that will identify validity to the transactions that you are processing in their office.
